A Christian church has stood here since before 1066 with the current building dating back to the 12th Century with various additions having been made since it was first built. The latest one to be done is the Huskar Window dedicated in July 2010 and then in 2012 the Bramah Heritage Centre was completed with funding from Heritage Lottery Funnd and the East Peak Innovation Partnership. The Bramah Gallery provides a wonderful community facility along with the help of volunteers from Sikstone Heritage a chance to research local/family history.
Within the churchyard you will find the Huskar Monument commemorating the awful tragedy in 1838 of the loss of 26 children aged 7 to 17 who drowned in a flash flood while working in the Huskar Pit up in Silkstone Common.
Today All Saints is the Parish Church for Silkstone and Silkstone Common with its membership drawn from both villages and surrounding areas. It is also part of the West Barnsley Benefice (group) along with 3 other C of E churches in Hoylandswaine, Cawthorne, and Dodworth.
From within the building/grounds we provide (specifics of each can be found on worship/calendar/events pages):-

- Celebration/Commemoration of important events through life ......Baptisms, Marriages, Funerals, Blessings
- Strong links with Silkstone Primary School and Silkstone Common Primary School
- Monthly Messy Church

Throughout the year All Saints also holds Garden Parties (highly recommended), an annual BarBQue, Sillkstone Sing along with social events to raise funds for Charities, local groups and the church itself.

It is also home of “Wonderfully Made” each November… a 3 day not to be missed Craft and Arts Fair displaying, supporting and selling the works of regional artists ….paintings, carvings, sculptures, jewelry, clothes, furniture, toys and gifts.
